Pete Hegseth needs to go. He’s purging our military of some of its best leaders, politicizing promotion decision, and doing more to sabotage the military’s culture of professionalism, independence, and dissent than our adversaries could hope for. He’s trying to create an officer corps in his own image — ideologically and racially. He’s doing all of this at a moment when the Trump administration’s recklessness has made us more vulnerable than we’ve been in my lifetime, and the damage he’s doing will be lasting if we don’t stop it fast.
